The province says nearly 400 events will receive support in 2026, helping create jobs, attract visitors and celebrate local culture
The Ontario government is investing nearly $260,000 in nine festivals and events across Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes through its 2026 Experience Ontario program.
The funding is part of a larger $20 million provincial investment aimed at boosting tourism and supporting local economies.
Tourism Minister Stan Cho said festivals help bring communities together and support small businesses. Local MPP Steve Clark announced recipients including Brockville Ribfest, Kemptville Buskerfest, the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival and the 1000 Islands Regatta.
Funding also supports the Lombardy Kioti Pro Rodeo, South Grenville Bluegrass Festival and the Aquatarium’s Mermaids March Break event.
A new stream will provide $10,000 for the Rideau Canal Nautical Heritage Festival. The province says nearly 400 events will receive support in 2026, helping create jobs, attract visitors and celebrate local culture.
