Visitors will have a chance to experience Canadian history, culture and community at Fort Wellington National Historic Site on Sunday (June 21) as the RCMP Musical Ride and the Akwesasne Men’s Singers take part in a special National Indigenous Peoples Day event.
The Akwesasne Ratirennenhawi, also known as the Akwesasne Men’s Singers, will perform traditional Mohawk songs and dances at 1 p.m. The RCMP Musical Ride will follow at 2 p.m. with its well-known display of horsemanship, precision and teamwork.
Parks Canada and the Town of Prescott say the event will bring together Indigenous cultural performance and RCMP ceremonial traditions in a shared celebration.
Admission is free, with donations accepted for the South Grenville Food Bank. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fort Wellington will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering visitors opportunities to explore the site’s War of 1812 history and heritage programs.
