The appeal highlights ongoing strain on animal rescues across the region this year
Heidi's Kitty Haven is urgently calling for foster volunteers as it struggles to keep up with a surge of cats needing care.
In a post shared about a day ago, the rescue said it receives daily requests to take in more animals, including some at risk of euthanasia. The group warned it cannot accept additional cats without more foster homes.
Fostering allows the organization to temporarily house cats while they await adoption, easing pressure on limited shelter space. Without that support, the rescue says fewer animals can be saved.
Heidi's Kitty Haven is asking people to consider opening their homes to a cat in need. Interested volunteers can apply through the group's website or by contacting the rescue directly.
The organization says every new foster home could help save a life, as demand for intake continues to rise and resources remain stretched.
The appeal highlights ongoing strain on animal rescues across the region this year.
