Public meetings are scheduled for June 15 and June 29 at the former school in Frankville
The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley is inviting residents to help shape the future of the former Frankville Public School through a series of public meetings later this month.
Council approved the purchase of the property for $325,000 on Feb. 23, and the sale officially closed on May 25.
With the building now under municipal ownership, the township is seeking feedback on how the site should be used to serve the community.
Mayor Brant Burrow called the acquisition a “generational opportunity” and said council is considering several possibilities for the well-maintained facility.
Options include relocating and consolidating municipal offices currently split between New Dublin and Toledo, or transforming the property into a community hub offering gathering spaces, recreation programs, seniors’ activities, workshops and other services.
Public meetings are scheduled for June 15 and June 29 at the former school in Frankville. An online survey is also available for residents.
