Officials say grants support active aging volunteerism and stronger community connections across Ontario
Ontario is investing $105,312 in six local projects through the Seniors Community Grant program announced by Steve Clark in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes.
The funding supports Augusta Township with $25,000 for inclusive senior programming including fitness arts seminars and intergenerational workshops.
Other projects include Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township receiving $24,855 for workshops and an older adult expo.
Country Roads Community Health Centre gets $25,000 for a friendly visiting program to reduce isolation.
Gananoque Public Library Board receives $10,075 for an interview podcast project preserving local history.
Front of Yonge Township partners with schools and the Legion on a veterans commemoration initiative.
Merrickville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 245 hosts a community dinner and launches a legacy banner program.
