An evening survivors lap included 25 survivors and families, followed by a luminary lap around the track
Students at South Grenville District High School raised more than $92,000 for cancer research during its 10th annual Relay for Life on May 28, organizers said.
The event marked the school's tenth Relay for Life, where 44 teams and 430 participants walked, ran and rolled around the school track over a 12-hour period. Since 2014, the school has raised nearly $600,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Relay Committee lead teacher Jackie Henry said the milestone marks a decade of community support. Student Audrey Henry said it was inspiring to see so many people from a small school come together.
An evening survivors lap included 25 survivors and families, followed by a luminary lap around the track.
Ten teams from Seaway District High School joined for a third straight year, along with participants from Augusta Township, local businesses such as Giant Tiger and Seaway Physiotherapy, and other UCDSB schools running events across the region.
