Residents in Brockville and Prescott are being advised to prepare for a round of winter weather as snow is expected to move into the region later today.
Environment Canada says snowfall totals of 10 to 15 centimetres are possible from this afternoon through Saturday morning. Periods of heavy snow may also reduce visibility at times, which could make travel more difficult.
Forecasters warn that accumulating snow may lead to slippery roads and walkways across the area. Drivers are being urged to slow down and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
Residents clearing snow are also reminded to take frequent breaks and avoid overexertion to reduce the risk of strain or injury.
