The event takes place Tuesday, June 30, at the Spencerville Mill & Museum
Sports fans and history enthusiasts will gather at the Spencerville Mill & Museum on June 30 for an evening that combines stories from the 1970s sports world with local craft beer.
The latest installment of the Mill’s History Talks series will feature historian Matthew J. Bellamy presenting “Cool, Cocky, and Unforgettable: The History of Sport in the 1970s.”
Bellamy’s talk will examine a decade known for memorable athletes and landmark moments across baseball, hockey, golf, tennis and other sports. Organizers say the presentation is intended to spark conversation, share memories and highlight the influence of sport on popular culture and community life.
Guests will also be able to purchase beer tasting flights from Joe’s Spencerville Brewing Company. Tastings will be available for attendees aged 19 and older for an additional fee.
The event takes place Tuesday, June 30, at the Spencerville Mill & Museum. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is by suggested donation.
