A 30-year-old man was arrested after a stabbing outside the Lanark Leeds Grenville Mental Health and Addictions building on Front Avenue in Brockville around 3:30 p.m. on Monday (Sep. 22).
Police say a male victim was stabbed twice and rushed to Kingston General Hospital with serious but stable injuries.
The suspect, a local man with a history of violence, was found nearby and arrested without incident. Officers say he was carrying bear spray, several knives—including a butterfly knife—and was breaching two probation orders and six weapons bans.
Before his arrest, the man allegedly threatened a homeowner with bear spray during a second altercation.
Police secured the area for several hours to investigate. Emergency services also responded to three overdoses at the same location, adding to the chaos.
The suspect is being held for a bail hearing. He faces multiple assault and weapons-related charges.
