Motorists, especially those driving high-profile vehicles, are urged to use caution during peak wind conditions
Strong winds are expected to move into the Brockville–Prescott area late this afternoon and continue into the evening, according to Environment Canada.
Wind gusts of 70 to 90 kilometres per hour are possible as a cold front passes through the region. Forecasters say winds will strengthen quickly and shift suddenly to the west late this afternoon or early this evening. A brief gust reaching 90 km/h cannot be ruled out.
Conditions are expected to improve later this evening as winds gradually ease.
Environment Canada warns that the strong winds could lead to localized power outages. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects, such as patio furniture, garbage bins and decorations, to prevent damage or injury.
Motorists, especially those driving high-profile vehicles, are urged to use caution during peak wind conditions.
Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring weather alerts and forecasts from Environment Canada. Reports of severe weather can be sent by email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or shared on social media using the hashtag #ONStorm.
The weather advisory remains in effect for Brockville–Prescott.
