Local musicians are invited to submit their own versions to Brockvillenews@mbcmedia.ca for consideration
A question frequently asked by listeners of 103.7 Giant FM has finally been answered: who performs the station’s version of O Canada?
The recording belongs to Daryle Dean, a multi-instrumentalist from Vancouver, B.C., whose rendition of the national anthem has been playing at noon on the classic rock station.
Dean learned to play multiple instruments at a young age, a skillset that helped him establish himself in Vancouver’s studio scene.
Dean explained why he decided to create his own version of O’Canada.
With support from peers familiar with 'Canada Together' campaigns, he submitted his version of the track for possible use in the commercials.
He said he is happy the song continues to connect with listeners.
Dean added his current band still performs the anthem on Canada Day.
From TV and radio to online platforms and more, Dean’s rendition of ‘O Canada’ continues to play, demonstrating the power of a song to unite and inspire Canadians everywhere.
Local musicians are invited to submit their own versions to Brockvillenews@mbcmedia.ca for consideration.
