Just west of Mallorytown, maple season is underway at Quabbin Hill Maple.
The family-run operation, hosted by Greg and Lynda Halladay, has been producing maple syrup at this location for 38 years. About 350 taps are connected using a pipeline and vacuum system as sap begins to run this spring.
Maple syrup producer Greg Halliday says weather has played a big role in how the season has started.
Halliday says the flavour should keep improving as the season continues.
The sugar bush is located about three kilometres west of the village of Mallorytown, with the sugar house only about 50 metres from the road.
