Brockville Police reminded drivers there is never an excuse to get behind the wheel while impaired and encouraged everyone to help keep local roads safe
Brockville Police say three impaired drivers were arrested within a 12-hour period over the July 4 holiday, highlighting ongoing concerns about dangerous driving.
Police said two drivers were impaired by alcohol and one by drugs. One of those charged was driving a commercial 18-wheel tractor-trailer, while another was travelling 44 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit.
Officers said impaired driving and excessive speeding create a dangerous combination that puts everyone on the road at risk.
The arrests were announced in a July 4 social media post as police urged motorists to plan ahead and choose a sober ride. The latest cases come as police continue efforts to reduce impaired driving through enforcement and public awareness.
