Maintaining the Volunteer Centre’s legacy of service, connection and community care across the region moving forward
The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau is closing after more than 40 years of service in Leeds and Grenville, marking a positive transition for community supports.
United Way Leeds and Grenville will continue delivering key programs, including LEAP, the Urgent Needs Fund (UNF), income tax programming, volunteerism and other initiatives that support individuals and families across the region.
Executive Director Hailie Jack spoke about the impact the centre has had on the area.
She also outlined next steps in the transition.
Jack said she is proud of those involved in making decisions focused on community benefit.
Community leaders say the transition strengthens long-term collaboration between partner organizations and ensures continued access to trusted supports, while maintaining the Volunteer Centre’s legacy of service, connection and community care across the region moving forward.
