Police are investigating after tools used by volunteers building affordable housing were stolen from a construction trailer in Prescott.
The break-in happened overnight at a Habitat for Humanity build site near Lockett Place on James Street, according to a community notice shared Thursday.
Representatives with Habitat said the trailer at the site was entered and several construction tools were taken. The organization has reported the incident to police and is now completing an inventory to determine exactly what is missing.
The tools are typically used by volunteers helping construct safe affordable homes for local families.
Habitat is asking residents in the area to keep watch for tools that may be sold locally under suspicious circumstances.
