The Brockville is asking residents to help shape how flags are raised and displayed at municipal sites.
City officials have launched a review of the Community Flag Raisings and Flag Protocol Policy. The goal is to make sure the rules are clear and reflect community values, while also outlining the city’s responsibilities when requests are made.
As part of the process, residents are encouraged to read the current policy and complete a short online survey. Feedback collected during the review will be used by staff to prepare a report for council, which will decide if changes are needed.
The review comes as municipalities across Canada look at how public spaces represent community groups and events through flag raisings.
