Coffee will be available at the Legion during the event
Residents in Leeds County will have a chance to learn how to spot scams and protect themselves from fraud at a free presentation hosted by the Ontario Provincial Police.
The Leeds County OPP detachment will hold the hour-long event Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m. at the Lyndhurst Legion, located at 306 Lyndhurst Road in Lyndhurst.
The presentation is open to community members of all ages and will cover several common types of fraud, including cryptocurrency scams, romance scams and grandparent scams.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions during a question-and-answer session at the end of the presentation.
The event aims to help residents better understand the risks of fraud and recognize warning signs that could help them avoid becoming victims.
Coffee will be available at the Legion during the event.
The free presentation offers residents an opportunity to learn from OPP fraud experts and get answers to their questions.
