Wren thanked Leeds and Grenville paramedics, Brockville General Hospital staff and the hospital’s Integrated Stroke Unit for their care
Brockville Mayor Matt Wren says he is recovering at home after suffering a mild stroke earlier this month.
In a personal update released this afternoon, Wren said he experienced a medical emergency early on Aug. 12. He said the stroke caused only minor physical impacts and no cognitive impacts.
Wren said he expects to make a full recovery and is feeling great and grateful while recuperating with his family.
He said he remains fully capable of carrying out his duties as mayor and plans to serve until the end of his term. Wren added that he will reduce his schedule slightly and attend fewer events while focusing on his health.
Wren thanked Leeds and Grenville paramedics, Brockville General Hospital staff and the hospital’s Integrated Stroke Unit for their care.
He also thanked his family, friends, city staff and others for their support, saying the city’s business will continue as usual during his recovery at home.
